Fighting Self Doubt

The biggest thing that holds me back from doing things is self doubt. Worrying that I’m not capable, believing that I’ll look stupid, worrying what people think etc.
However, recently I realised that I would rather take that risk than let self doubt win and never know.

I’m at a point in my life where I really want to make sure I’m doing things that make me HAPPY. However, sometimes doing things that make you happy can result in you dropping something old and starting something new. That can bring a fear of the unknown and that fear is what can kill so many dreams. It did mine for a while, but then I realised I wasn’t going to let fear win anymore!

Over the last few months there have been a few big decisions that I have made. These include leaving uni, joining an Acting class and starting my own blog. Preceding all of these decisions were HUGE amounts of worrying and self doubt. However, the outcome of all three decisions have been amazing.

The more I do and the more I challenge myself, the more I am getting hooked on the feeling of satisfaction. The feeling that you’re ACCOMPLISHING  something. And for me, waiting for that feeling is WELL WORTH fighting those negative thoughts and self doubts. I’m gradually gaining more and more self belief and I believe that this is down to me pushing myself and stepping out of my comfort zone.

My advice to people who are wanting to chase those dreams but are worried what people think/doubting themselves, is to go for it!! Wouldn’t you rather try than never know? Do what makes YOU happy. Your HAPPINESS is the most important thing. And as for worrying what people think, I’ve come to realise that everyone is so wrapped up in their own lives that they probably won’t have time to analyse yours. Also, true friends and loved ones will ALWAYS support you. If they don’t, then I hate to break it to you but they’re not very good friends at all.

Surround yourself with people who celebrate your happiness and who live for your success as well as theirs. This should also help you achieve all the things you dream of.

So, to end on, here are some motivational quotes that are kick ass. Hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

Be brave and do what you love.

Love always, Grace xx
